How to Request a Bruin Voice Phone Line (Zoom Phone)
Service Description
A softphone is a piece of software that allows users to make telephone calls over the internet via a computer. IT Services now uses Zoom software as our softphone solution. Zoom Phone can be installed on a variety of devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Zoom-compatible physical devices.
Zoom Phone is available for users and shared lines. Shared lines are lines that are answered by multiple individuals. Members of shared line groups must also be assigned direct lines. Zoom Phone is currently not available for fax lines, emergency lines, or elevator lines.
Zoom is currently being deployed to all academic, administrative and research units by the Bruin Voice project.
